George and Amal Clooney Welcome Twins, Ella and Alexander
George Clooney, former PEOPLE magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, is finally a father. In 2006, when he was honored for a second time, he was asked about his thoughts on having kids. He said that gene wasn’t in him – but he did state that everything in his life has changed over time – leaving the scenario open because as that old adage says, “Never say never.”
His wife, and international human rights lawyer, Amal, have just welcomed two wonderful baby twins into this world. They’ve named them Ella and Alexander – very normal names by celebrity standards.
The 56-year old actor is a little late to the game as most of his friends have had kids for a while and most of them are grown up and in college. Telling a story on the French TV show “Rencontres de Cinema,” he said they were out at dinner and his friends were really supportive. They said, “Everything is going to be great, you’re going to love it.” That is until the table got quiet, and they started imitating baby crying noises and everyone had a good laugh.
Despite the friendly ribbing, Clooney seemed to the challenge. And back in 2006, on the topic of children, he stated it’s the most responsible thing you can do (having children). “It’s not something to be taken lightly,” he said.
We think the Clooneys will do just fine.
