Lil Wayne Hospitalized After Seizures
Rapper Lil Wayne, aka Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., was sent to the hospital in Chicago after reportedly suffering an epileptic seizure. I the afternoon on Sunday, September 3rd, the rapper was found unconscious in his room at the Westin according to TMZ. He was then transported to Northwestern Hospital where he suffered another seizure.
The Young Money Entertainment founder has dealt with seizures for a while now and has been sent to the hospital on several occasions. In 2016, he had a seizure on a cross-country flight after an incident, and another one in 2013 which resulted in a six-day stay at the hospital.
Lil Wayne was scheduled to perform at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas on Sunday night as he’s currently on tour with Rae Sremmurd, but it’s unclear right now if he’ll be discharged any time soon. At the time, his team tried to get the 34-year old rapper discharged so that he could make it in time to perform, however, doctors advised against the idea and wanted him to be grounded for a few days. Especially with his history of seizuring aboard a flight, the doctors just felt that the risk was too great.
As of 8:55PM PST, TMZ learned that Lil Wayne did indeed suffer multiple seizures and is currently resting. His Vegas show has been cancelled.
