MTV is Bringing back Fear Factor with LUDA!!

Steve Porter / April 17, 2017

Fear Factor was an American “stunt game show” created by Endemol USA and distributed by NBC Universal Television. The show was hosted by Podcast legend and UFC commentator Joe Rogan. In the show, contestants who are recruited from across America compete across a series of challenges where they must face their inner most fears. Under the care and supervision of hollywood’s most elite stunt coordinators, contestants must complete the stunts and challenges and not let fear be a factor for them. Failing a challenge, players were immediately eliminated or in the case of timed events, the person with the slowest time is eliminated and the last contestant standing wins the grand prize of $50,000 USD.

The show ran on NBC for 6 seasons between June 11th, 2001, and September 12th, 2006, with a total of 144 episodes at 60-minutes each. The show was revived in December of 2011 and only ran for 8 episodes before it was canned once again. At the time of writing this article, the series has a rating of 5.6 out of 10 from the votes of just over 5,000 members.

Recently, MTV has announced that they will be resurrecting the fallen series with a fresh coat of paint and a new host. MTV officially announced the new season’s 12 episode run on the 12th of April, 2017, with rapper/actor and co-star of The Fast and Furious film franchise, Ludacris, leading the show as both host and executive producer. The new series is set to premier on May 30th, 2017.
