Nintendo Will Ramp Up Switch Production For The Holidays

Steve Porter / August 29, 2017

Still haven’t gotten a Nintendo Switch yet? Well if you’re waiting for a deal this holiday season, at least Nintendo is going to do everything they can to make sure store shelves are stocked. Ever since the console was launched in March, stock issues have been a pain in many customers’ behinds. While we’re sitting months after the initial launch, many areas are still plagued by shortages.

The Wall Street Journal reached out to the video game company in a recent article to find out if they had anything to say about the current situation. Nintendo is quite aware of the supply problem and they’re doing everything they can to meet the demand. They even stated that for the holiday period, they will be ramping up production.

They said that they’re doing everything in their power to ensure that anyone who wants a Switch, should be able to get one. They’ll ramp up production for the holidays and even built it into their forecast. For their fiscal year which ends in March 2018, the company plans to ship 10 million units of the Switch, but this number is a conservative estimate compared to the 18 million which those in the supply chain have been hearing.

Think you’ll be able to get one this Christmas?
