The New “Predator” Trailer Promises Crazy Action

Steve Porter / June 28, 2018

Get ready for the rebirth of the Predator—everyone’s favorite clicking alien hunter. The sixth entry in the franchise, The Predator ignores Predators and Alien vs. Predator and takes the series back to its roots: good ol’ American soldiers being hunted down by freaky aliens.

We’d be more worried about The Predator if it wasn’t directed by Shane Black, who also co-wrote the script with Fred Dekker. Black has a deft hand combining black comedy and thrilling action and is best known for directing Lethal Weapon and Iron Man 3. He’s had a long directorial career starting with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Black’s a great fit for The Predator—even more so because he had a supporting part in the first movie in 1987! Black’s reboot features a ragtag crew of disgraced soldiers, a disgruntled science teacher, and an adorable kid. This is going to get crazy, fast. Check out the trailer!

While Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn’t get a cameo, The Predator stars an ensemble cast led by Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacoby Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, and Thomas Jane. The Predator stalks into theaters on September 14, 2018.
