We Finally Have The First ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Trailer

Ben Migono / April 14, 2017

Fans have waited long enough, but we finally have the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi.

The Rian Johnson directed film is (obviously) the eighth episode in the Star Wars saga (not including Rogue One), is part of the new sequel trilogy which follows after Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).

The much anticipated film has had little information leaked, but this trailer gives us some beautiful shots, some cool action, and we finally get to continue the story from where we last left off, where Rey finds Luke Skywalker and returns his lightsaber, and we get the longest panned shot in the galaxy.

The trailer shows us that Rey will be undergoing some much needed Jedi training, courtesy of hide and seek champion, Luke Skywalker, and she’ll most likely have a rematch with the whiney Kylo Ren.

We also get some stunning shots of a line of ships blowing off some serious red vape, a sleeping Finn, the classic swooping Millennium Falcon, the return of Captain Phasma, some epic looking battles, and an intriguing statement to leave us hanging, “It’s time for the Jedi to end.”

In the trailer we see familiar faces, Rey (Daisy Ridley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Issac (pilot, Poe Dameron), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), and we see the back of Carrie Fisher (General Leia Organa a.k.a. Princess Leia) in one of her final performances, as she passed away just last December.

The Last Jedi gets composer John Williams back, as he sat out for the Rogue One film.

The much anticipated next chapter in the Star Wars saga comes to theaters December 15, 2017 and we can’t wait!
