Yup, A Royal Wedding Is Happening

Shelby Chau / November 29, 2017

We’ll it is official! Just recently all bets were called off as to when the royal couple would be engaged, and on Monday, we finally got the answer. The wedding will take place in the spring of 2018, and once the ‘I Do’s’ are exchanged Meghan Markle will be the fifth in line to the throne.

The pair has been dating since July 2016. However, the pair didn’t make their first public appearance together as a couple until the Invictus Games in Toronto in September. The event was set up by Prince Harry for wounded, injured and sick soldiers.

If it wasn’t for some mutual friends, Meghan, 36, and Harry, 33, may never have met in London that fateful month in July. Their relationship was confirmed in November of that year from a statement from Kensington Palace with scathing remarks for the media in regards to their treatment towards Markle.

The engagement ring was designed by the Prince himself going with a gold band and the center ring coming from Botswana and two diamonds from his late mother’s (Diana, Princess of Wales) own private collection. The rocks all had special meaning – Botswana, where the couple has spent time together over the past 1.5 years, and of course, the diamonds from Diana’s own collection.
