Blade Runner 2049 Teaser Trailer Drops

Steve Porter / December 22, 2016

Any science fiction fan worth their weight should know what constitutes as a classic for the genre. If you’re a true fan, there should be no doubt that Ridley Scott’s 1982 hit, Blade Runner, deserves to be on everyone’s lists. The film was based on a novel published in 1968 by an American writer named Philip K. Dick titled, “Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?” The film followed a Blade Runner named Rick Deckard (played by Harrison Ford) as he goes about trying to track and terminate four replicants (androids) who have stolen a spaceship and returned to Earth in search of their creator.

The film is rated well on IMDB with a score of  8.2 from nearly 500,000 votes and Metacritic has it listed with a critic’s score of 89 and user score of 8.9. The film had a total production budget of $28 million and brought in $33.8 million at the box office. Subsequent re-releases and alternate cuts of the film have been presented to the public over the years and it has done astronomically well in both home video sales and online streaming.

The nerding world collectively rejoiced when news of a sequel was announced just a few short years ago. Now let’s be clear, this is not a reboot or a reimagining of the original film or source material, this is an honest sequel. Harrison Ford is back after more than 30 years, reprising his role as Deckard and this time he’s joined by Hollywood heavyweight and Canadian Ryan Gosling along with Ana De Armas (Wardogs), Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) and Mackenzie Davis (The Martian).

A full trailer for the film has yet to be released, but we’ve just recently had the pleasure of viewing the teaser, and I gotta say… Yeah baby! Take my money. Take it now!!!!
