Did Mayweather Vs. McGregor Just Get A Venue And A Date?

Ben Migono / March 13, 2017

In the latest news for the highly publicized ‘super-fight’, a venue and a date looks to be reserved for the bout in question.

If you’re interested in this kinda stuff, make sure to mark off June 10th because that’s the night that’s reportedly set for the fight. As for the venue, it’ll be held in Las Vegas, a city where Floyd Mayweather is no stranger to. His 12 previous fights have all taken place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, but the one against McGregor is scheduled to be held at the T-Mobile Arena according to¬†Flo Combat. McGregor also fights in Vegas often – his last seven fights in the UFC have also been held in Vegas.

While a date and location has been set, the fight is far from a done deal. The biggest hurdle right now involves the UFC and McGregor’s current contract.

A previous hurdle was Mayweather’s retirement, but just recently, he stated that is is officially out of retirement, just to fight Conor. This came after a year (and then some) of back and forth banter between to two champions. At this point, it seems Mayweather is putting the pressure on McGregor to sort out the contract issues and get the deal done.
