Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson No Longer World’s Highest-Paid Actor

When you’re on top, it’s pretty hard to stay on top, and when there’s nothing left to look up to, the only way to go next is down. I mean, just ask Jennifer Lawrence. So what about her male counterpart? Unfortunately, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has suffered a similar fate and he’s no longer the World’s Highest-Paid Actor.
On Forbes’ list of world’s highest-paid male stars, Mark Wahlberg has now taken over top spot with before-tax earnings of $68 million in the last 12 months. “The Rock” didn’t fall too far though, and he sits in second place with just $3 million less at around $64.5 million. It’s a shame that Transformers: The Last Knight performed terribly – but Wahlberg probably doesn’t care since his fixed fees boosted him to the top of the highest-paid list for the year. Johnson will probably make more than his $64.5 million from 2016 with roles in films such as Baywatch and the Jumanji reboot, just to name a few.
In third spot was Vin Diesel, one of the many star’s alongside The Rock in The Fate of the Furious, with $54.5 million. At number 4 was Adam Sandler who made nice sum of $50.5 million thanks to his lucrative Netflix deal. Rounding out the top 5 was Jackie Chan with $49 million as continues to see success overseas.
