Our First Look at the Cast of “It: Chapter Two”
We got our first look at the new cast of It: Chapter Two last week! The next chapter is the sequel to last fall’s sinister blockbuster and adapts the second half of the original novel by master of horror Stephen King. The members of the “Losers Club” are all grown up and have to return to the brooding hamlet of Derry and face the terrifying clown Pennywise for the final time, 27 years after the events of the first film.
The first chapter featured a group of children locked in a desperate struggle for survival with a savage monster. Now, we get to see if their adult versions will handle Pennywise with the same cleverness and courage.
WB has released a photo depicting the new cast. From left to right, we can see Jessica Chastain (Beverly, played by Sophia Lillis in It), James McAvoy (Bill, played by Jaeden Lieberher), Isaiah Mustafa (Mike, played by Chosen Jacobs), Jay Ryan (Ben, played by Jeremy Ray Taylor), James Ransone (Eddie, played by Jack Dylan Grazer), Bill Hader (Richie, played by Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things), and Andy Bean (Stanly, played by Wyatt Oleff).
It looks like all the kids turned out rich and beautiful, which fits the curse described in the original novel—if they could survive and leave town, they were blessed with unnatural success. (I’m not sure we’d take that deal.) Let’s see if the “Winners Club” can handle Pennywise, still played by Bill Skarsgard.
Directed by Andy Muschietti, It: Chapter Two will arrive in theaters on September 6, 2019.
