Have You Ever Seen A Three-Point Lay-up?

Ben Migono / December 2, 2017

For someone who only stands at 5 foot 8 inches tall, this man has taken the Internet by storm by putting his insane leaping ability on display for all the world to see. The guy’s name? Dexton Crutchfield and if you’ve seen someone jumping over cars or across two parking spaces, you might already know about him.

The way he’s able to soar through the air is reminiscent of His Airness himself, Michael Jordan. I can hear R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly” playing in the background. Well, instead of dunking, he’s taking his jumping beyond the three point line to complete a 3-point layup.

3 point lay up again since they said the one I did outside wasn't a three point line !

dexton4 aka Crutchfield filmed his attempt and posted the video to Instagram. He can be seen (clearly) taking off behind the 3-point line and calmly using a finger-roll to lay the ball in – all in super slo-mo just to make it look super nice. We’ve seen many people posting about the #CurryChallenge, it’ll only be a matter of time before someone posts one from beyond the arc. However, no one’s going to pull off what Crutchfield just did.

In today’s NBA, where the most efficient forms of scoring are lay-ups and 3-pt shots, Crutchfield just made a case that combining the two could be a viable way of scoring!
