Superman Gets Spoofed In New Deadpool 2 Trailer
No one needed an extra reason to watch Logan this past weekend as it debuted with global opening of $237.8 million. It has an R-rating and it will be Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine role as well as Patrick Stewart last as Professor X – so no, this isn’t your typical X-Men movie. But those who needed just a little more incentive, well, the new Deadpool 2 trailer was shown in front of Logan screenings around the world.
Deadpool, the highest grossing R-rated film of all time, returns with another NSFW trailer for their upcoming sequel, and it maintains all of the comedy stylings that the first movie was known for.
The trailer begins with Ryan Reynolds, playing Wade Wilson, stumbling upon a mugging taking place in an alley. He can’t stop the criminal just yet, so he jumps into a phone booth to change into his costume while the iconic Superman theme music is played in the background. While Superman would change instantly, Deadpool, well… not so much.
You get a glimpse of Reynolds’ butt, which further illustrates the difficulty of trying to change into a superhero costume in a phone booth. Staying true to his antihero nature, Deadpool is more concerned about making a call than he is about saving the citizen in need (which you can hear pleading in the background for quite some time). Before he even makes it out of the booth, you can hear a gunshot which ultimately means that Deadpool was useless.
He admits that he spent way too long in the phone booth, and concedes that he should’ve just called the police instead. Oh well, maybe next time!
Anyone know the number to 911?
