The New Star Wars: Battlefront II Trailer Looks Incredible

Steve Porter / April 15, 2017

Yesterday was a big day for Star Wars fans as we got the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, and today is another treat, as we get the first official trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront II.

This is the sequel to Star Wars: Battlefront, the action video game that was released at the end of 2015, based on the movie franchise. The game focused primarily on places from the original trilogy and also The Force Awakens.

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming Battlefront II.

The game play for Battlefront I consisted of both first-person and third-person views playing as either Stormtroopers for the Galactic Empire or soldiers for the Rebel Alliance. You could pilot Tie Fighters, X-Wing Fighters, AT-STs, AT-ATs and the Millennium Falcon, and players could also play as the iconic heroes or villains, such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Boba Fett or even Darth Sidious.

The original game received praise for its amazing visuals and gameplay, however it was criticized for lacking content in its single player and multiplayer modes.

Battlefront II looks to learn from its predecessor as it will feature more solo missions that span across all three eras of the Star Wars series on top of all the amazing things the Battlefront I had.

This new trailer also introduces us to new character, Iden Versio, the female commander of an Imperial special forces unit, where her story is explored more in the single-player campaign, set following the events of Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. Iden Versio looks to avenge the Emperor and defeat the Rebellion.

One of the coolest features aside from the wider range of troopers and fighters, is the ability to play as any of the heroes from across the Star Wars saga. Yes, that means you could play as Darth Maul from Episode I, or as Kylo Ren from Episodes VII and VII. How cool is that?

The release date for Battlefront II is November 17, 2017, and will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
