Turns Out We’ll Be Getting a ‘Gambit’ Movie After All

The smooth talking X-Men member Gambit will be coming to the big screen starring Channing Tatum on February 14th, 2019, reports say. Valentine’s Day is being reserved on the calendar by 20th Century Fox, but we’re not sure how well it will be received as a date movie.


From a Deadline exclusive, they said that Gore Verbinski will be directing the film has been in the works for a long time and will be based on a a script from Josh Zetumer. Producing the project will be Simon Kinberg, Lauren Shuler Donner, Reid Carolin, and Channing Tatum.



Fans will know Gambit as Remy LeBeau, a superhero who has the ability to inject volatime kinetic energy into objects allow them to explode on impact. His weapon of choice? A deck of cards. The character was created for Marvel in 1990 by Jim Lee and Chris Claremont. In 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Taylor Kitsch first brought the character to life on screen


At the moment, the Gambit film is going to be taking on New Line/Warner Bros’ comedy Isn’t It Romantic starring Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth as well as an untitled Blumhouse release from Universal.
